California Leaders Speakers Series

This signature speaker series spotlights current and future leaders from across California and both sides of the political aisle. Through these timely and dynamic events, the Center has provided unparalleled access for UC students and faculty and Californians from across the state to some of the state's most influential voices. Past featured speakers include Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Former Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins and Former State Controller Betty Yee.

California Economic Forum

This annual conference provides an in-depth briefing on the latest UCLA Anderson Forecast, which for over 70 years has been the premier independent economic forecast in California. The conference includes dynamic panel discussions with business, civic, labor, and government leaders on the global, national, state, and local economies, and explores the challenges and opportunities California has for economic prosperity.

End-of-Session Look Ahead

This annual program has become a must-attend event in the Capitol community. The EOS Look Ahead features a lively panel discussion of the priorities and political dynamics that influenced the prior months of policymaking in the Capitol and explores key insights into the State Legislature’s final weeks of the legislative session.

Policy Conferences and Briefings

The Center co-hosts conferences on the highest priority topics facing California’s policymakers, with an emphasis on understanding the challenges from different perspectives and identifying the resources available to solve them. Each conference connects policymakers with UC’s expertise, innovations, and research capabilities. Conference topics have included: housing, artificial intelligence, insurance, wildfires, climate, elections, health care, affordability, prescription drugs, and energy.
