Student and Policy Center
Just steps away from the state Capitol, the University of California launched its new UC Student and Policy Center (UCSPC) in August of 2024, ushering in a new era of collaboration and partnership with state leaders.
The Center is a hub of engagement, bringing together University of California faculty, researchers, and students with state leaders and policymakers in the heart of California’s capital city.
Fostering constructive dialogue
The Center hosts highly visible programs of top flight speakers, debates, and briefings designed to speak to major policy issues of our time. The Center fosters greater civic engagement throughout the region by serving as a place for public dialogue and other engaging community events.
Sharing UC's expertise and innovation
From California's insurance crisis to the depths of the state budget, the Student Policy Center’s programming enables UC to contribute its faculty expertise, research, and innovations to policymaking and facilitates more effective solutions to the challenges facing California and its diverse communities and regions.
Programs and Events
Our programs and events are designed to foster constructive debate, share valuable information with policymakers, present a balance of viewpoints and contribute UC’s expertise to problem solving. In addition to a regular schedule of community events, we host two thematic programs designed to inform and engage Californians on critical issues facing the state.
